It seems a lot of people are interested in building Hobbit Holes or homes inspired by them. We have been remodelling our house to suggest a hobbit hole. I don't have good pictures yet, but for those who are building any kind of hobbit hole, this article from Fine Homebuilding Magazine http://www.taunton.com/finehomebuilding/how-to/articles/inside-hobbit-house.aspx is helpful and shows what can be done with doors and windows. They have a link to the architect and builder, and most importantly, to the people who build the doors and the hardware that goes with it. It isn't cheap, but this is a once-in-a-lifetime expense, so...

Thanks for sharing the link with the group! It seems as though the new Lord of the Rings trilogy of movies has started quite the architectural style. I remember there was even a Middle Earth decorating group on Yahoo some time ago, but it wasn't very active and I can't seem to find them around anymore. Pictures are always much better than words when it comes to beautiful Tolkienesque comes like these, and I hope yours turns out as well as the homes in these pictures! Smile
